(#Giveaway) Thanksgiving with #WinnDixieHydePark!

Disclosure: As part of my relationship with the Tampa Bay Bloggers, I have been compensated for this post, however, all (delicious) opinions are my own. 😉

When the temperature changes and the days grow shorter, my entire world becomes a little brighter.
I. Love. Fall.

And although there is a special place in my heart for the winter holidays, I have a sweet love and appreciation for Thanksgiving- a time that is strictly about family and friends, traditions, togetherness, and of course, the star of the show… food.

My mom loved Thanksgiving and since her passing I have kept her traditions alive. I have wonderfully fond memories of my mom and I shopping for our Thanksgiving meal ingredients, and then staying up late into the wee hours of the night prepping and cooking for the big day.

Each year I have carried on those traditions and keep her spirit in my pocket as a prep and cook her favorite turkey recipe, my grandmother’s tried and true dressing recipe, and a few sweet treats from my own recipe stash for our family. We typically do our Thanksgiving feasts “pot luck style”, but I always make sure I can make my mom’s turkey- even if it’s just a small one. <3

I’m super excited about completing my Thanksgiving shopping this year because I will be buying all of my ingredients from the newly remodeled Winn Dixie in Hyde Parkwinn-dixie-winndixiehydepark-1024x768

  1. I’m most excited about cooking for my family. It’s the first time I’m hosting Thanksgiving– so it would really help out to win this!

  2. I’m excited to finally have a break from school, work and interning. It is only 5 days, but I will take it! Food wise, I’m most excited for the sausage sage stuffing and the cranberry sauce!

  3. Thankful for another year with my family! Thankful that although it’s challenging, that my oldest had held true for almost a year now being vegan( that makes these holidays challenging, but we all respect his decision and overall have made better choices ourselves)
Thankful my youngest who struggles with Autism has made more gains with communication and that my family is healthy and happy.

  4. That’s easy!! It’s my birthday and at this stage of my life, every birthday I reach is an exciting and thankful event.

  5. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is being in my mom’s kitchen and partaking of the wonderful dinner that she prepares with pure love and joy every year. A part of me feels like a little girl still having her prepare the meal and seeing family that I typically only see at Thanksgiving makes it an enormous time of gratitude.

  6. I love the food at Thanksgiving! The smells bring me back to Thanksgiving days of my past when my Grandma Lou would cook up the turkey (with one stalk of celery and a half an onion in the cavity), sage sausage stuffing, and all the fixings. I’ll often close my eyes and imagine I’m there..
But my absolute favorite thing about Thanksgiving is being with my family. With our lives as busy as they are, we rarely get the opportunity to get together like we do at Thanksgiving. We catch up on what’s going on in our lives, eat, plan Black Friday shopping and play Euchre!!! I love it!!

  7. I am most excited to get back into the holiday spirit and cooking for my family! Last year we didn’t celebrate thanksgiving because it was way too hard after my moms passing. It hurt way too much because it was one of her favorite holidays. This year is dedicated to her. ❤️
