Don’t get MUD on the new Sauconys!

I’m going to be pretty muddy!

I’ve always dabbled with the idea of doing a mud run, but I must say… they’re a bit intimidating. As I’ve been reading about Pretty Muddy on Twitter, other blogs and Facebook, I realized that this may just be the perfect race for first timers! Here are some points from the website:

Is Pretty Muddy a timed event?

Nah. If you want to race the course, then we fully support that. You can take as much time out there as you like. If you love an obstacle and want to do it again – go for it!

What are the obstacles like?

The obstacles were built with “fun” being our number one objective. Some will challenge you a little, some might challenge you a lot – but we’ll be there every step of the way to help you through it.

Do I have to do every obstacle?

Of course not. Every obstacle will have a sign showing you around it. Only do the ones you feel comfortable doing and don’t feel bad going around a few – this is your day, do what you want to do.

THIS is the obstacle course race for me!

Some of my blogger friends were giving a free entry away to the race, and I decided to go ahead and try my luck. Although I didn’t think I would be brave enough to sign up for one of these on my own, I figured WINNING an entry would be the push I needed to cross this off my fitness bucket list.

Well, friends, I WON! THIS is what I read on Jessica’s blog, Cuban Running Crisis earlier this morning:

Needless to say, I’m SO excited and cannot wait to share this experience with you guys! Being that it’s my first mud run, I’ve love some advice! So, what are your tips for surviving crossing the finish line of a obstacle/mud run?

On a separate note…. THESE babies arrived on my doorstep today!

Just a few days ago I found out that I had been chosen for Saucony’s #FindYourStrong campaign! I’ll be taking these babies out for a spin tomorrow and will have all the details about the campaign, and a review on these not-available-until-November-1st running shoes!

Talk soon!
Steph

PS- I’ve been seeing these shoes pop up all over social media, and haven’t seen the orange ones yet. I cannot BELIEVE I was sent a pair of orange Saucony’s with orange laces! These SCREAM #TEAMJUDY! So excited. 😉

  1. OK, I’ve never done Pretty Muddy, but I did the Dirty Girl Mud run a couple of weekends ago. check out my blog for the recap, but my tips are to avoid cotton, wear as little clothes as possible, leave those sauconys at home (wear old shoes you dont care about), and HAVE FUN! good luck!!!! 🙂 Lea

  2. I love my Saucony runners also. They make an awesome shoe. Mines are starting to look a bit beat. I was planning to purchase the same ones again. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Those orange ones are pretty nifty. 🙂
